The Effect of Rodenticide RH - 787 on Blood Glucose in Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
The changes of blood glucose level in rat by oral administration of a new rddenticide RH-787 were studied. The results were as follows.
1. No significant changes I of blood glucose were noted by the dose of 240 mg of RH-787 per kg. of body weight.
2. Blood glucose levels were elevated up to 101.8 ±6.49 mg/100 ml on the eighth day after administration of 480 mg, 118 mg/100 ml on the fourth day after 750 mg and up to 300 ml/100 ml at seven hours after 1, 000 mg of the drug per kg of body weight.
3. Oral glucose tolerance test (500 mg) was performed both in the control and RH-787 groups, and blood glucose levels of each groups were 47.0±1.42 mg/100 ml and 85.7±5.59 mg/100 ml at fasting state, 135.0±10.81 mg/100 ml and 144.6±-15.74 mg/100 ml at 30 minutes, 100.7±6.65 mg/100 ml and 137±8.81 M91100 ml at 60 minutes, 66.3±-1.28 mg/100 ml and 112.8±8.00 mg/100 ml at 120 minutes and 49.7±2. 05 mg/100 ml and 106.3±10.35 mg/100 ml at 180 minutes.
